Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) is a major Swedish airline. In 2018 they turned to The Mobile Life to create and launch a new mobile passenger application. Their objective was ” to make it as simple to fly as riding the bus”. Today the application is a key self service channel to lower operations cost and enable the airline to grow revenues and loyalty.
In the new BRA app, you get a clear overview of all your upcoming trips booked on Flygbra’s website and other channels. You easily book flights, rebook, check in and pick up your boarding pass which is available both online and offline. In the app, you can also add extra luggage and other extra services to your trip.
The new BRA app is the visible part of a digital system integrated with the airlines reservation system (Amadeus). The B2C smartphone app offers self-service functionality to passengers on the go in order to search, book and pay for tickets as well as manage their bookings and check-in prior to departure.
BOOKING
Enabling passengers to book flights and manage their bookings means the ticket shop is open and available in your pocket 24h, anywhere at any time. This offers BRA an additional sales channel and the self-service aspect means costs are reduced.
CHECK-IN
With the new mobile check-in, BRA are ticketless and passengers avoid worrying about printing out documents. Check-in can now be done from any device, at any location. Upon arrival at the airport, the check-in flows faster thanks to the digital approach.
