Airline Web/IBE

Powered by the same Middleware and APIs as all other Apps, we've launched a new modern and powerful Airline Web Internet Booking Engine (IBE) frontend. 

While we've been famous for our cutting edge native mobile applications for airlines, we've in fact always done also Web/IBE, even before "responsive web" was a thing, e.g. we launched the mobile web for Singapore Airlines (then) low cost carrier already 2012, along with all other mobile apps. 

What we've done now is a complete relaunch and revamp with the latest and most modern Web frontend frameworks, to make it easy to develop, scale and maintain, and just as all other digital frontend products they are based on the same high-performing auto-scaling and PSS/DCS-agnostic Backend/Middleware, and the Data platform can be used for personalization of the Web/IBE and segmentation in the channels, like email, sms and broswer notifications, in an omni-channel way with the Apps and their push notifications.

Performance, Acquisition, Retention & Conversions

Our new Airline Web/IBE is completely responsive, with optimized performance across desktop, tablet and mobile, and also developed as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which enables some "app like" capabilities of the Web, e.g. offline support with online sync of stations and routes, among others. 

The role of the Web in an omni-channel environment is really user acquisition, whereas the role of the Apps have become retention for those most important users that moved over. Regardless of Web or App we are obsessed with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and have a repository of continuously improved modules and components, put together in optimal flows per Booking, Check-in and Manage My Booking (MMB) with conversions visible in realtime in our dashboards.

The Airline Web/IBE can be personalized in the same way as the Airline Apps, such as a dynamic home screen with different modules/cards turned on or off and with differing ordering to provide the best match for the user, as well as ancillary and payment method prediction scoring and ordering, among others. 

Three levels of stickiness are relevant for digital personalization depending on how much data we have: 

1. Popular/Trends - for first time users. Instead of showing static lists, order them based on what is most searched, viewed or purchased. 

2. Preferences - remember what I did, what I like. Prefill as much as possible based on previous interactions and behavior. 

3. Recommendations - things I should like, but don’t know yet. We have a recommendation engine that can predict what you may like based on cross referencing with other user and data segments. 

Our data platform takes care of this for both the Web/IBE and the Apps, and when used together we can unlock some additional benefits, like urgency messaging (e.g. "x people looking at this route right now") and abandoned cart triggers and messaging, to remember and prefill the cart in any channel, regardless of which digital product initiated the search.
